How to use doTERRA oils in the best way possible

How to use doTERRA oils

Fundamentally, there are 3 main uses for doTERRA oils and that is aromatic, topical or dietary, however not all oils are created equal

No, not all aroma oils are equal.

This means that walking into your local store and purchasing a pack of oils with a candle diffuser for a few dollars is not going to offer any of the therapeutic benefits you are expecting. In these cases, do not rub these oils on your skin or consume them. They are likely to be toxic and possibly not even essential oils. At best they will be a scent liquid posing as an essential oil. You will be able to tell if they are a low standard oil when you diffuse them. These types of products will have a sickly smell and even slightly irritation in the throat.

For 100% pure therapeutic oils choose doTERRA

To avoid buying scented water instead of a quality essential oil you need to look for 100% pure and tested oils. There are only a few companies offering such a product, but most will suggest doTERRA as a safe option. This is because of their goal of producing the purest essential oil in the world.

Using doTERRA essential oils

In the world of doTERRA, it is wise to consider how oils are used. So, before jumping in feet first and using the products as you please. It is advisable you ponder the different aspects of the oils, because some oils are only aromatic, some are only for topical use while others are all three aromatic, topical and dietary.

This is depending on the make-up, process and toxicity of the oils.

I would note that you should read through the doTERRA guide so you understand which oils are appropriate for each use. So, don’t start consuming any of the oils until you have reviewed the information offered in their guide.

Aromatic use

Aromatic refers to the aroma, scent or smell of an organic compound in this case we are referring to essential oils. The best way to create an aroma with oils is to use a diffuser, in your sauna water or even adding a few drops in your bath. Using the sauna and bath idea will not only be aromatic, but also topical.

doTERRA offers many different types of  diffuser packages in the webshop to create the best aroma around your home.

Topical use

Topical refers to external use such as on the skin, hair and face. You can use the oils for aromatherapy, skin care and homemade perfumes. Rubbing essential oil on your skin can help and support the user in many ways. This can include relaxation, stress relief as well as helping against pain. It is recommended to use some of the stronger oils with carrier oils such as coconut oil.

Dietary use

Dietary refers to internal use as a supplemental aid such as in cooking, drinking or digestion wellness issues. For some years I have been using peppermint oil in green tea for tummy problems, lemon oil in water for a refreshing drink on a hot day and rosemary oil for scones to give it that something different.

Since starting a Keto diet about 5 years ago I have started using even more oils in my cooking because they are carb free flavouring alternatives. This has allowed me to make lemon or ginger almond cake using stevia as a sweetener.

My wife on the other hand is consuming turmeric and ginger by using doTERRA’s veg capsules primarily to help with her rheumatoid arthritis, but also to reduce swelling and support weight loss.
